Orchard Park Economic Development Committee
The Orchard Park Economic Development Committee (OPEDC) performs in an advisory capacity to the Town and Village Boards on matters pertaining to economic development and maintenance of a viable, business-friendly, economic climate in the Town of Orchard Park. The committee is comprised of volunteer citizens from the community who are appointed by the Town Board, Village Board, the Orchard Park Chamber of Commerce, and the Orchard Park School District.
The OPEDC believes that both the Town and Village of Orchard Park are positioned to take advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with the construction of a new NFL stadium in the Town. We are already seeing a willingness for new businesses to start and/or expand here, such as Aldi, Wayland Brewing, Cookie JARZ Bakery, and Cork & Vine, among others. However, we are aware that it’s not always clear what a new business or developer must do to navigate Town and/or Village codes to expand or start a business or establish new development here. We also need to consider continuing or creating new measures that bring visitors to our community to benefit our businesses. In addition, there have been growing concerns over the need for after-school programs that appeal to our youth with positive encouragement.
We request your honest and constructive input on these topics to help Orchard Park continue to improve. We ask that you participate and share an overview of your experiences and assist us by providing constructive feedback and examples (where appropriate) on current processes. Your comments will be held in confidence and used by the OPEDC to provide direct input and suggestions to the Town and Village Boards. Please, no anecdotal comments. Specifics will help us analyze and review relevant processes. I encourage you to forward this invitation and survey to other business owners and developers who might have additional constructive input.
Please complete this survey no later than May 31, 2024.
